MAIN GOAL:

Integrating scientists and collaborators at the Department of Chemistry into a unified research unit to enhance scientific excellence. The objective is linked to the programme indicator: the number of scientific papers published at the level of a public higher education institution or public research institute in scientific journals indexed in SCOPUS and WoS, A1 journals, and internationally peerreviewed conference proceedings.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  1. Introduce undergraduate and graduate students to scientific research work.
  2. Determine the molecular and crystal structure of new macrocyclic compounds.
  3. Investigate the extraction of metal cations using macrocyclic compounds.
  4. Determine the electrochemical properties of macrocyclic compounds.
  5. Determine the molecular structure of coordination compounds of transition metals with ligands from the hydroxy and benzopyranone group, with the addition of Ndonor ligands, using green chemistry methods.
  6. Investigate the biological properties of coordination compounds of transition metals with ligands from the hydroxy and benzopyranone group, with the addition of Ndonor ligands, using green chemistry methods.
  7. Establish a system for the precipitation of predominantly one hydrate phase of calcium oxalate (CaOx) under laboratory conditions.
  8. Investigate the influence of “ecological materials” on the precipitation of calcium oxalate (CaOx).
  9. Systematically monitor and conduct research in the field of air quality analysis.
  10. Improve understanding of atmospheric conditions and processes.
  11. Develop new catalysts and perform their structural and morphological characterization.
  12. Reduce the concentration of organic pollutants in wastewater.
